We have had such a wonderful year in 3rd & 4th Class so far. The children work very hard and put their 'best foot forward'. They love working together in groups but in particular doing projects and working on the Chromebooks. There is always lots of interesting learning, collaboration and investigations of some sort taking place in the classroom.

The children have done a number of group projects this year, the most recent one being an SESE project on various habitats around the world. They did research both in school and at home and worked together using various materials such as cardboard and crepe paper to create their assigned habitat. The children also did a great job in presenting their work. 

There has been much emphasis on Gaeilge this year, particularly on oral language skills and reading. The children have worked hard and it's great to see the improvement at this point in the year. The children do their best to use their Gaeilge throughout the week. We recently took part in a Tráth na gCeist for Seachtain na Gaeilge which was enjoyed by all. 

In English we have really focused on our handwriting, spellings and reading fluency. I'm very happy to report that there have been improvements in these areas but the pupils' grammar and oral language skills have improved too. We have also enjoyed working on the various writing genres across the year. We are looking forward to doing Literacy Stations in May for a number of weeks.
