Welcome Back A big welcome back to all our families and school community. We are off to a great start and a big special welcome to our fantastic group of Junior Infants this year. Hot Lunches are also going down a treat and we are delighted to have already started our music lessons in school last week. Very well done to all our pupils and staff on another successful return to school and we look forward to another fantastic year in K.N.S. Ciara McNamara (School Principal)

Seniors/1st

In Senior Infants & First we are loving reading- we did a 6 week Literacy Lift Off block in term 2 where we had stations for reading, writing and ICT which was great fun, everybody's reading came on leaps and bounds. We have library time every week and have our books in class for DEAR (Drop Everything And Read) during the day.

We have done great Art lessons and projects throughout the year- we did an Under The Sea project where we made fish, sea creatures and the ocean and decorated our windows. We also learned about Cubism and specifically Pablo Picasso. We looked at all his Art work and noticed how funny some of his portraits looked- we even did our own versions.

We have a great flair for Music in our class also- we are currently learning the Ukulele and love playing our songs every week and noticing our improvement. We also recently made our own musical instruments- shakers. We used old plastic bottles and decorated them and added rice.

We are also great hurlers in this class- we started hurling training in school every Thursday and love the drills, learning new skills and the games.
