Limerick Clare Match Report- By Seán in 6th

posted 26 May 2015, 01:42 by Shane O'Neill

On the 24th May, Limerick played Clare in the Munster Quarter final. The throw in was at 4 o’ clock. Limerick got the opening point of the game and had a great advantage in the first half because of the wind. At half time, the score was 0-9 to 0-8 to Limerick. However, when the players were going into the dressing room, there was a fight and Pat Donnellan was sent off for hitting the hurley off Donal O' Grady. In the 53rd minute, everybody thought Limerick had it won when they got a goal but Clare came back with their own goal courtesy of Aaron Cunningham. Then Seanie Tobin came on in the 56th minute and was sent off straight away for hitting one of the Clare players with the boss of the hurley. The tension was unbearable! This turned the game around and motivated Limerick again. When the final whistle went, Limerick had won by a point on a scoreline of 1-19 to 2-15 and now they will face Tipperary in the Munster semi-final. We were all delighted except Mr. O'Neill who was a disappointed Clare supporter!
