Don Bosco

On Friday 1st  March, 3rd to 6th classes went on a trip to Salesian College,Pallaskenry to see the  relics of Don Bosco in a glass casket. Father Martin Loftus told us many interesting stories about Don Bosco, including one about a blind girl being healed and receiving the gift of sight once again. He also told us that when all the other adults were too busy, Don Bosco would go out playing football and other games with the children. He became known as the children’s priest. This proved what a kind soul Don Bosco was. Lots of schools sang songs and played music for all of us. Father Loftus performed some magic tricks for us, because, when Don Bosco was a child he was always interested in magic. The Copsewood choir sang some lovely songs. At the end we all prayed the “Our Father” and another prayer to Don Bosco. Don Bosco’s motto was “Believe in yourself and follow your dream”.
