Well done to everyone in 6th working so hard and preparing for all upcoming events. We have had a lot of news over the last few weeks and a lot of children are representing the school in various areas. All did a great job at the Enrolment Confirmation mass last Sunday and are continuing their preparation to be confirmed in May. Jenny and Lisa have been training very hard for Desmond soccer trials and got the good news last week that they have made the panel. Ciarán, Cillian and Ódhran had Mackey Cup hurling trials and all 3 were selected for the Mayor's Cup team which was a great achievement. 5th and 6th had the spelling bee competition on Friday last and after an exciting and tense finish, with Ódhran and Emily the last 2 standing, a very calm and astute Emily came out on top. She will now go on to represent the school in the 'Limerick County Spelling Bee' which will take place on Thursday 26th March in St. Paul's N.S. Well done Emily!! Furthermore, we have been trying out new sports such as tag rugby and have had coaches in the school since Mid-Term for athletics training. We are also having a chess knockout tournament in our class at the moment as part of maths for fun and will have the final before the Easter holidays, with a trophy and gift voucher for the victorious child. Keep up the good work 6th class!
